Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions resulting in optic nerve damage, which may cause loss of vision

  • Open-angle glaucoma: This develops slowly so that any damage to the optic nerve and loss of sight are gradual.
  • Primary acute closed-angle glaucoma: Results from a buildup of fluid in the eye because the distance between the iris and the drainage system has been closed
  • Secondary Glaucoma: Caused by various conditions which can cause a rise in eye pressure
 
  • Optic nerve damage
  • Drainage angle in the eye closes or becomes blocked
  • Tobacco, smoking
  • Variety of medical conditions, medications, physical injuries
  • Reduced blood supply to the optic nerve
  • Difficulty focusing on near or distant objects
  • Double vision
  • Dark spot at the center of viewing
  • Sudden loss of vision in one eye
  • Sudden hazy or blurred vision
  • Tunnel vision in the advanced stages
Food:
  • Eat food that includes vitamin C and vitamin E
  • You can eat cereals, leafy green vegetables and eggs
  • Carrot, palak and amla are useful
  • Reduce food that includes sugar
  • You should avoid bread, pasta, rice, potatoes
  • Avoid fats
  • Grind some Almond kernels and Kali Mirch (Peppercorns) with water and filter and take it. It is very useful foe eye diseases
  • Take amla with honey
  • Triphala is one of the best eye cleansers
  • Tea made with Punarnava leaves is very beneficial
